Art of living- Acts of kindness

Life camel

Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on acts of kindness:  Abiding in the self, you become the Valentine for the whole world. Spirit is the valentine of the matter and vice verse. They are made for each other. If you do not respect the spirit, then nature is not pleased and vice versa.  You are the Christmas tree:  A Christmas tree bears the gifts and the lights not for itself. Similarly all the gifts you are carrying in your life are for others.  When you showed kindness towards others, your true nature comes into play. Have you ever done acts of kindness, without expecting anything out of it, and then it is considered as a worthy act and loved by all.  Our services should not be mechanical and they should be natural spontaneous.   For example,   If a girl helps an old woman to cross the road, the gratitude in the eyes of that old home is enough for that girl to being joy in her. No other special reward is essential and also we cannot measure that little charity with money.  This sort of kind heartedness brings changes in the hearts of many people. When you do random acts of kindness, you become in touch with your true nature.  God likes very much this sort of kind hearted persons.   … [Read more...]

Art of Living- How to live happily?

Swamiji Sri Sri Ravi Shankar explains us nicely how to live happily and purposefully in this world. 1. He says firmly that we must have an aim in life and further He teaches us as follows. 2. Stream is different from flood. In stream, the water flows in a systematic way. Where as in floods, the water flows as it likes. 3. In the same manner, the energy present in us should flow like water in the river, as it has got certain direction, otherwise, nothing but confusion prevails. Now a day, majority of the people’s condition is without any specific direction, just like a ship without rudder. 4. When you are in happy moods, so much life- energy is accumulated inside the body, and never allows it to be stagnated there and get itself rotted. It should flow freely. 5. Life runs with commitment only. Every small or big things in our life, goes with certain commitment. For example: 1. Family runs on commitment, 2 Mother is committed to the child and the child in turn to the parents.3. Wife is committed to her husband and vice versa, 4. A student takes admission in a school or college with commitment. 6. Commitment is highly essential to make this life energy to flow into the right and good directions. 7. We feel delighted when we take troubles for the sake of our family members. We never take it as labor or hardship, but we feel it ‘’as our responsibility’’. It is nothing but our commitment to our family. 8. If you extend this same kind of commitment beyond your family limits, to your neighbors also you will get plenty of joy. 9. Like that creativity is also important and it springs up when you are relaxed. Unless you renounce all the work you have done that whole day, you cannot … [Read more...]
